Are you an Oregon fully-licensed Marriage & Family Therapist who is deeply committed to anti-racist, social justice-oriented, LGBTQIA+ Affirmative Therapy?

Rebel Heart Therapy is seeking MFTs who are passionate about relational work and eager to support the healing and growth of couples, polycules, families, and other relational systems. This is a unique opportunity to provide identity-affirming care within a radically inclusive, mission-driven group practice.

We strongly encourage applications from clinicians who are part of underrepresented communities, including the LGBTQIA+ community.

    Position Overview:

    • Provide relational therapy to couples, families, polycules, triads, and other relationship systems.

    • Support clients navigating identity, intimacy, communication, trauma, and life transitions through a culturally responsive, affirming lens.

    • Deliver high-quality, client-centered therapy that celebrates neurodivergence, queerness, kink, non-monogamy, and other lived experiences of our community.

    • Full-time position: average of 25 weekly client sessions, with a minimum of 30 hours available.

    • Attend monthly staff meetings and team bonding events.

    • This is an in-office position in Portland, OR.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Provide excellent therapy to a diverse caseload of relational clients (couples, families, polycules, etc.).

    • Maintain timely and complete documentation (within 48 working hours; all notes completed before planned time off).

    • Collaborate with outside providers when needed to support holistic care.

    • Participate in regular team meetings and ongoing clinical training.

    • Contribute to a culture of warmth, equity, and curiosity.

    • Embody Rebel Heart Therapy’s mission, vision, and values in all client and team interactions.

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • Deep alignment with Rebel Heart Therapy’s mission, values, and affirming clinical approach.

    • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Marriage and Family Therapy.

    • Active LMFT license in good standing with the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists (OBLPCT).

    • Demonstrated experience with LGBTQIA+ Affirmative Therapy or at least six months of clinical work with queer, trans, polyamorous, kinky, or otherwise marginalized populations.

    • Strong relational therapy skills and a commitment to working with diverse family and relationship systems.

    • Organized, timely, and able to manage documentation independently.

    • Collaborative, communicative, and grounded in presence and professionalism.

This Position Might Not Be For You If:

    • You're seeking a routine job without deeper engagement.

    • You don't resonate with our mission, vision, and values.

    • Engaging with teams and colleagues is a challenge for you or causes you distress.

    • You're planning to start your private practice soon.

But It's Perfect For You If:

    • You're committed to providing affirmative, social justice-oriented therapy.

    • You're knowledgeable about queer history and engaged with the communities we serve.

    • You're excited to be part of a team that values creativity, collaboration, and growth.

    • You're open to receiving and acting on direct, constructive feedback.

    • You have prior private practice experience and now wish to focus solely on clinical work, leaving the business aspects to someone else.

    • You’re looking for a practice to grow with—one that invests in you while you invest in it.

Join us and become a vital part of a team dedicated to making a difference. At Rebel Heart Therapy, your role as a Clinical Therapist is a journey of helping, healing, and contributing to a community that cares.
